We are living through a time of profound change, a shift that is bringing us into unfamiliar territory.

For most of human history, our awareness was limited to our immediate surroundings. We focused on the local environment because our survival depended on it.

But over time, our perspective began to expand. Horses carried us across landscapes, wooden ships across oceans. Then came radio, television, air travel, the internet, and now social media. Each innovation widened our awareness and expanded what we could experience.

Today, we explore distant galaxies through powerful telescopes and send robotic missions to other planets. Our interaction with the environment now spans the cosmos. And this expansion is reshaping how we see ourselves.

As our awareness grows, so does our sense of who we are. The world around us has always reflected that sense, both individually and collectively. And now, as our awareness extends into the vastness of space, that spaciousness mirrors something back to us – like gazing into an infinity mirror.

But not everyone experiences this expansion the same way. Some feel drawn into it, open to a greater vision of themselves and for humanity. Others feel unsettled, grasping familiar and aging patterns that once provided safety. 

This is not a division between the evolved and the unevolved. It is the same tension playing out in every one of us, the pull between the familiar and the unknown.

This is what a species in transition looks like. It is uncomfortable. It is disorienting. It feels divided. But it is natural.

And this isn’t about who is ahead or who is behind. Who is evolving and who is resisting that evolution. That is not important. 

What is important is: are there enough of us willing to move through this together with love, patience, and understanding. Because love will do the heavy lifting in this transformation. Not judgement, not contempt for those resisting or controlling. But compassion for them. 

Because ‘enough’ of us is a bridge across an evolutionary gap that leaves no one left behind.

There is no destiny. Only a choice we make, together.
